2013 – Kelli Gross
|
After graduating from Plano East High School, Kelli attended the University of Texas at Austin where she double majored in psychology and studio art. Though she had wanted to be a physician for years, volunteering at Dell Children’s Medical Center cemented her goal. In 2010 she decided to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch due to its storied history and cohesive student body. Kelli finished her fourth year of medical school in 2014. During her time at UTMB she was dedicated to serving her community, spending hundreds of hours volunteering at St. Vincent’s Free Clinic, where she was elected to Clinic Director during her final years of medical school. She has recently had the honor of being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. |
Along the way, Kelli gained an interest in urology and the blend of medicine and surgery that it offered. Her research interests include surgical teaching, pathogenesis or urethral stricture disease and bladder cancer management. She hopes to pursue a fellowship in urologic trauma and reconstruction. She is currently in her first year of Residency at The Mayo Clinic Arizona practicing Urology. In her free time Kelli enjoys weightlifting, traveling and listening to music.
