Rothschild Award

The Dr. Berny Rothschild Award for Compassion in Medicine was awarded to incoming fourth-year students who best exemplified Dr. Rothschild’s committment to patient-centered care. The UTMB Directors of the third-year primary care clerkships (family medicine, internalmedicine, pediatrics, and ob/gyn) were appointed to the nomination committee for the award. The Rothschild Award is publicized among students and faculty, ensuring that Dr. Rothschild’s story is known and that the Rothschild Scholar is expected to be an instrument of change and compassion in his or her medical career.
The inaugural Rothschild Award was announced at UTMB’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon in Galveston on October 25th, 2013…nearly one year after Berny’s passing. |
